JOB PURPOSE:
To co-ordinate, assist and complete in account management reviews, pricing reviews and proposition pricing, in relation to all existing Commercial products and any new products, in order to ensure profitable growth of the Commercial account
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES - Accountabilities
In accordance with departmental operating plan and within agreed timeframes:-
Identification and collation of internal and external data required in order to complete technical pricing reviews for all the Commercial rating structures. Liaising with the Commercial Management Team, Commercial Product and Pricing Controller, to understand the day-to-day influences on pricing and market changes. Completion of analysis of data to ensure balance of technical rating is correct and put forward recommendations where changes are required.
Complete required analysis and pricing work on annual product pricing reviews for all the Commercial Products in liaison with the Commercial Management Team, Technical and Senior Underwriters, putting forward recommendations to the Commercial Management and Commercial Product and Pricing Controller.
Support the Commercial Development Manager and the Commercial Schemes team with data and pricing analysis in order to successful obtain and retain profitable schemes and larger account propositions.
Day-to-day account management analysis to ensure technical pricing is progressing to plan and identifying any areas that may be impacting on achieving plan for pricing levels. Liaison with the Head of Commercial Underwriting Operations and Senior Underwriters to understand the impact any recommendations would have on the performance of the account, including renewal retention and new business growth, before putting forward recommendations to the Commercial Management and Commercial Product and Pricing Controller.
Assist in assimilation and manipulation of data for accumulation mapping and modelling in order to identify long term influences on account risk exposure and identification of extraordinary rating influences.
Collation and analysis of data required to support reinsurance acquisition and renewal.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
The jobholder must have detailed experience and proven ability in analysing technical pricing structures and detailed account management data as well as capability to enhance or develop new rating structures
Must have degree level qualification in mathematics, statistics or actuarial science or similar
needs have in-depth knowledge of general insurance, with most of that knowledge being in Commercial insurance classes of insurance
Has to be able to design and use modelling techniques, and be capable of preparing and completing reports for varying level of internal and external customers
Must have a strong ability to meet strict deadlines, prioritise work and influence others for successful completion of projects and tasks
Needs to have the ability to fit within a dynamic team where constant change is inevitable and understand how pricing changes impact on our day-to-day underwriting, systems and broker development
Must have excellent keyboard skills, be PC literate with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Access and SAS and preferable Adobe, and the ability to learn and understand fully IT mainframe processing systems
Must have the ability to deal with members of the Commercial team at all levels of experience and seniority
