Commercial Underwriter – Hampshire - up to £35,000 plus excellent benefits
Our client is a leading commercial insurance provider specialising in property, liability and motor classes of business. They have strong ambitions to expand their workforce and as a result are looking to recruit a professional and experienced individual to drive their company forward.
The purpose of the job is to make day to day underwriting decisions within Personal Underwriting Authority (PUA) and company Underwriting Rules regarding:-
- Acceptance and rating of risks.
- Process business leading to policy issue.
- Service existing cases including renewal reviews.
- Maintain and develop broker relationships to encourage support.
The job holder must have proven insurance industry experience, strong interpersonal skills, be IT literate and be able to work in a structured and planned manner.
The main tasks will include:
- Providing new business quotations, renewals and mid-term adjustments within company laid down authority limits.
- Ensuring all service standards are achieved.
- Working collaboratively with other parts of the organisation, including outsourced suppliers e.g. claims and risk control.
- Demonstrate relationship building skills with key brokers to encourage support.
- Support the development of Managed Agents within the Region and achieve the desired customer service levels for Managed Agents.
