Account Handler – Gloucestershire

A well established and highly reputable independent insurance specialist is looking to appoint a proven Personal Lines Account Handler to be an integral part of an already successful team.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to build a career within this well-respected, growing company.
The Job/Duties
Your remit will be to provide all round administrative support to the personal lines team, including answering telephone queries from producing brokers and direct clients.
Accepting instructions and dealing with amendments to existing policies, calculating premiums for original policies, adjustments and alterations, and processing documentation.
Preparing slips, endorsements and wordings for submission to underwriters; checking and issuing policy wordings and endorsements to producing brokers and clients.
Obtaining renewal information from clients and preparing renewal documentation.
Assisting in the research and development of new and existing products to maintain competitiveness.
Eventually branching out into dealing with commercial insurance.
Helping to maintain awareness of the wider market and competitor activities.

The Person
A working knowledge of General Insurance products and processes gained in either a broking or underwriting environment.
Applicants will require a methodical approach with the ability to work as a member of a team as well as working independently.
A high standard of written and verbal communication skills required at all levels.
A good standard of numeracy, sufficient to calculating new, adjustment and endorsement premiums. .
