Commercial Account Handler - Kent TN Postcode - Up to £25,000 Plus excellent benefits
Our client is one of the UKs leading Insurance brokers that are actively seeking an experienced commercial account handler for their expanding commercial insurance division.
Overall Purpose of this role
Working within our Broking Team, the role will focus on the administration of complex non-package cases such as Business Combined for property, liability and other complex risks, helping to build a profitable client base and generating premium income to or above agreed targets in line with the business plan.
Key accountabilities
Achieve all agreed sales targets for commercial insurance products and ensure systems and procedures are properly maintained.
Maintain an excellent standard of customer service by explaining choices and providing recommendations ensuring both customer and business needs are met.
Produce clear and concise written correspondence and prioritise your work to ensure deadlines are met.
Ensure all sales are undertaken in accordance with the Company's compliant processes.
You will be expected to build effective and productive relationships with our panel of Insurers and external suppliers ensuring customers are acquired and retained to our mutual benefit.
To maintain a comprehensive knowledge of markets, covers and special schemes.
Dealing with client enquiries both by telephone and face-to-face, including visits to client premises where required.
Processing of email, post and instructions from Corporate and Account Executives.
Issuing of invoices and credits and liaising with the Accounts Department.
To confirm specific details policy cover to the Claims Department, when required.
To maintain accurate and complete computer records for each risk.
To undertake ongoing training both with respect to delegated authority held by the Company and in respect of FSA competence requirements.
General duties to assist the Department.
Education/qualifications
Good general education with qualifications ideally in English and Math’s GCSE or equivalent.
The work experience you'll need
Substantial commercial lines experience, all classes, preferably from a broker background.
An understanding of commercial underwriting principles coupled with the ability to accurately assess risks.
Some experience of personal lines, all classes would be an advantage.
Experience of broking risks into the market.
