A new vacancy has arisen within this newly formed company for a G60/AF3 Pension Transfer Specialist in Altrincham. The role will involve keeping up-to-date with new product, technical or legislative changes within the marketplace. Keeping up-to-date with technical and regulatory developments in relation to pension transfer and opt out business. Advising senior management and training staff on relevant changes. Complying at all times with the firm's pension transfer procedures and with the Compliance and Training and Competence Procedures of the firm.
Complying at all times with the requirements of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000, and the FSA Principles, Rules and the Code of Practice for Approved Persons.

To identify and contact potential clients. Gather sufficient client information and identify client needs. Analyse information gathered and undertake sufficient research to make suitable recommendations. Completing all supporting documentation in an accurate manner. Attaining and maintaining competent status as defined by FSA and the firm. Maintaining performance standards in accordance with those outlined in the Key Performance Indicators section of the Training and Competence procedures. Via self assessment and feedback, identify Continuing Professional Development (CPD) needs to maintain and enhance Competent status and undertake appropriate activity to meet those needs. Sign off all pension transfer and opt out cases before the recommendation is sent to the client using an agreed checklist (NB: this includes transfers and opt outs from money purchase and final salary occupational pension schemes). Keeping an accurate and up to date record of all pension transfer and opt out business written by the firm and of any pension transfer and opt out business written on an execution-only, insistent customer or correspondence only basis. Providing the firm with sufficient information to enable the appropriate notifications to be made to FSA on a timely basis.

Must have detailed knowledge of FSA and the firm's record keeping requirements. It is extremely desirable that candidates hold CAS for Pensions Transfer business although for the right individual this role may be able to be more akin to a paraplanner and in this instance the CAS would not be required although individuals must be fully able to write detailed reports/recommendations relating to complex pensions transfer business.
