Motor Schemes Underwriter
Location: Eastleigh
Salary: £34,000 - £52,000
We are looking to recruit an experienced Underwriter who has dealt with Motor Schemes accounts for rapidly expanding Insurance company in the Hampshire area. The successful candidate will be working with Sales to develop profitable Personal Lines business through technical assessment of business partner Accounts, the negotiation of suitable terms and to develop new and existing products as required. To control the performance and profitable development of business partner Accounts business through underwriting and to ensure that this business is of the required quality
Responsibilities:
Evaluation of new scheme, affinity and product propositions and to decide or recommended, as appropriate, underwriting rules, product covers and documentation to generate profitable growth
Monitoring the performance of current schemes and for recommending rating or underwriting action in order to secure profitable growth from schemes / key accounts
Ensure that an external auditing programme is undertaken which will include a review of the business underwritten, the accuracy of the rates and underwriting rules applied
Skills:
Strong ability to analyse and interpret complex data
Excellent skills in explaining, both internally and externally to key business partners
Excellent skills in explaining technical knowledge / issues to non technical people
Computer literate
A sound understanding of underwriting and pricing principles and experience of a wide range of technical issues
A good working knowledge of the motor market
