Claims Negotiator
Location: West Midlands
Salary: £17,000 - £20,000 + Bonus + Benefits
This company is a prestige vehicle replacement specialist that provides support services to the retail motor industry and ABI approved car hire to motorists involved in non-fault accidents. They seek a knowledgeable claims negotiator within their settlement department.
Duties and Responsibilities
To handle and negotiate on non-fault claims
To deliver individual monthly targets in terms of both revenue and, under recoveries, within the agreed tolerance standards
To manage the status and progress of an assigned portfolio of circa 120 files to set procedure, thus driving efficient resolution
To make contact with third party insurance companies and liaise and resolve accordingly
To review claims' files, speaking with clients and witnesses if liability is disputed
To produce a chronology of events making appropriate recommendations
To reinforce payment criteria set out by ABI
To collect outstanding debt from insurers
To manage under recoveries to a minimum being no more than the agreed tolerance
Additional responsibility may be agreed on a temporary or permanent basis to meet the business programme of growth, or support individuals development
Skills
Experience of transport industry and/or similar role
Knowledge of ABI guidelines
Clear verbal and written communication skills, persuasive and assertive
Ability to capture a clear logical summary of the given situation
Computer qualification/certificate or developed computer literacy
5 GCSE (including Maths and English) or Equivalent
Effective time management and negotiation skills
Ability to work under pressure and effective prioritisation
