Commercial Underwriters
Location: Cardiff
Salary: £15,000 - £25,000 depending upon experience
As one of the Underwriters for one of UK's leading insurers you will be part of a dedicated team that has an extensive local support network to provide you with the best quality advice possible. This is an experienced organisation that has developed a range of specialist insurance services. Reporting into the Lead Underwriter, the successful applicants will be responsible for underwriting all classes of business generated by the dedicated sales and customer service departments.
Responsibilities:
Handling of referrals and enquiries
Processing of new business and mid term alterations
Dealing with renewals and existing business
Answering all account and claim queries
Communicating product change to all relevant parties
Carrying out all renewal reviews in line with laid down procedures
Account handling
Skills:
Need to have a proven insurance background and knowledge of the market place
Possesses excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, together with numeracy skills to make accurate calculations
Possess the determination to succeed as both an individual and a team player
Sales focused coupled with a desire to provide excellent customer service to all internal and external customers
Well organised, accurate and pays attention to detail
You need the ability to prioritise your workload and maintain effective time management to ensure deadlines are met
Good computer literacy
Demonstrates enthusiasm, initiative and drive
Candidates require a minimum of 5 GCSE?s at grades C or above or equivalent, including English and Mathematics
Ideally must also possess or have a willingness to work towards the Insurance qualifications
