Management Accountant
Location: London
Salary: £40,000 - £55,000
This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading company as a Management Accountant. The role is to provide technical knowledge, advice and expertise to the business on all areas of Management Accounting
Duties and Responsibilities:
? To provide support to budget holders to whom you provide partnering services
? To provide input to Group MI products, including the Quarterly Group MI pack and the Quarterly Group Planning Packs
? To support the investment accounting function
? To assist in the preparation and review of the Monthly Management Accounts Pack, the Quarterly MI Pack and the Quarterly Planning Pack
? To contribute to the ongoing development of the Group MI products
? To act as a business partner to one or more support departments, including to fully understand the strategic aims of those departments and their cost base
? To provide analysis and assist with explanation as to the costs incurred
? To provide expense forecasts for the quarterly rolling forecasting process
? To provide any additional support required by the budget holders and to answer any ad hoc queries
? To liaise with budget holders and HR regarding the ongoing headcount requirements of the departments
? To assist in the productions of the consolidated Group MI products
? Maintenance of procedures manuals and Signing off of the appropriate financial controls performed
? Involvement in finance systems development and new Finance analysis tool and general ledger development
? Provide support to the Group Investment Accountant for the monthly reconciliation of investment manager reports and posting to the General Ledger
? Involvement in ad hoc projects
Skills:
? Good overall standard of education to degree level
? Qualified accountant preferably ACA
? Knowledge of general, commercial insurance industry practices and policies
? Experienced in the production of management accounts with budget and actual comparisons and variance investigation
? Ability to work to tight deadlines, adapt to changing requirements and work within a team
? Advanced IT skills, including Microsoft Office with the ability to learn new systems
? Experience of Accounting packages and insurance industry desirable
? Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
? Effective prioritisation and organisational skills
? Advanced numeric and analytical skills, with good attention to detail
