Senior Property/ Casualty Underwriter

Our client, a leading insurer seeks an experienced Senior Property & Casualty Underwriter to join their offices in Newcastle upon Tyne.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Senior Property & Casualty Underwriter to join this leading insurer based in Newcastle upon Tyne. Responsibilities will include underwriting new and existing corporate commercial business. You will be involved in all aspects of commercial underwriting, from handling the existing portfolio to proactively developing new. Familiarity with business plans, strategies and tactics will also be required.

The successful candidate will have excellent technical underwriting knowledge, cover all classes of Property and Casualty insurance. You will have strong negotiation skills along with good local market knowledge and awareness. In addition to being technically strong, you will also be conversant in face to face negotiations with local brokers and have the personality and ability to get the job done through negotiation and the ability to think "outside of the box". Ideally you will be ACII qualified or working towards. Only candidates with a strong record of achievement will be considered.
