We are looking for an experienced property claims handler to provide a first class claims service to Insurance clients. Negotiate and settle all captive claims and manage and maintain relationships with all claims providers and suppliers ensuring a high level of service is being delivered in all dealings with clients.
The Technical Claims Manager role is centred within an Insurance Team which has responsibility for the development and servicing of mid and high net worth general insurance service.
The TCM interfaces with all line management up to Director level and also interfaces externally with insurers, loss adjusters and all suppliers who provide services to our client.
The role is based in Newport but requires travel across the UK in order to maintain ongoing relationships with external suppliers.
The TCM will liaise with insurers in relation to contentious claims settlement issues and keep all parties up to date on the progress and settlement of all losses where appropriate to ensure that they can effectively manage their relationship with their clients.
Due to the specialised nature of these claims, previous experience in a home insurance claims environment is essential, the jobholder must also be capable of picking up new ideas and concepts quickly and applying them to the claims function.
In order to be fully effective in the role, a comprehensive understanding of the ABI claims code and FSA regulation is essential. A broad understanding of the range of insurers’ products and terms and conditions are also important for success in the role.
The successful candidate will:
Be responsible for managing the claims process and relationships with Loss Adjusters, Third party Insurers and suppliers.
Provide regular updates on referral progress to Account Executives and final settlement details in order for them to be fully effective in their client contact strategy
Take control of all claims outstanding over 180 days and manage to speedy settlement ensuring all parties involved are effectively managing the claims process.
Train Insurance staff on claims issues.
Oversee all claims activities and authorise claims over individual floor limits
Settle all captive insurer claims up to the limit of £10,000 with the exception of liability and subsidence losses.
