Our client is a leading affinity insurance provider who specialise in the direct marketing of white label accident and health insurance products to international corporate companies, retailers and customer membership groups.

An existing new opportunity has arisen for an experienced Affinity New Business hunter to develop new business in existing and new market sectors.

Specifics of the role include:

DIMENSIONS/RESPONSIBILITY

The job holder will be set personal new business premiums , new business partner, sales and Marketing Gain / Loss target for the business’s financial year. In addition the job holder would be expected to help with the development of existing major accounts.

THE OPERATING ENVIRONMENT & CONTEXT OF THE JOB

The individual will work alongside the Marketing Department establishing new Business Partner relationships in the UK, and will be expected to devise sales and marketing campaigns and plans to source new partners, attack competitor’s client banks, and break into key target accounts. The key deliverable is new business premium for the company.

KEY RESULT AREAS

1. Opportunity Spotting
Identifies and evaluates opportunities within current sectors for new business partners, and new sectors for the business to move into.

2. Lead Generation
Identifies suspects and prospects for the business to approach, qualifies those organisations, and designs and implements a plan to bring them to proposal/pitch stage.

3. Proposal Production
Manages the production of proposals, pitch documents and tender responses. This includes writing the core document, managing colleagues to produce departmental specific contributions (e.g. finance), creating the programmes, and ensuring that the finished document is delivered on time. Specifically ensuring that all propositions put to potential business partners are signed off by a minimum of the Finance Director and the Business Development Director.

4. Proposal Quality
Owning the quality of all proposal and tender response documents.

5. Pitching
Designing, creating and delivering face-to-face pitches/presentations. Dealing with queries and objections and presenting the company in the best possible light to ensure winning the contract. Closing the deal with a positive outcome.

6. Campaign Creation
Creates campaigns for new business propositions.

7. Contract Management
Liaising with clients and the internal Legal and Compliance Department to ensure timely completion of the contract process.

8. Management of Introducers and Brokers
Sources, contracts with and manages third parties to generate business opportunities for the Company.

9. Corporate Hospitality
Acts as a host for potential and current business partners at corporate hospitality events. Identify and develop future relevant hospitality and sponsorship opportunities


Skills and Experience

Essential:

At least 10 years sales experience
Minimum of 3 years Financial Services experience to include accident and health insurance
Affinity marketing experience/key account development
Knowledge of the (financial) retail sector plus good network in this sector
Experience pitching at senior management level
A high activity approach and a drive to achieve sales results
Proven experience and aptitude to develop business strategies and short-term action plans to achieve stretching targets

Desirable:

B2B sales experience
Direct marketing sales experience

Benefits and Remuneration:

Basic up to £65K, commission up to 100%
