Job Purpose:
To lead a team of administrators to achieve both personal and business objectives.
To actively support the advisers in maintaining and developing Group Pension business.
Key Accountabilities:
Coaching – Coach direct reports to improve knowledge and skills to enable them to provide an effective support to advisers and clients.
Appraising – Plan, manage and appraise performance of team members in conjunction with the Operations Manager in order to identify their training and development needs, and improve individual performance.
Team Development – Lead the team in encouraging the consistent flow of ideas between advisers, sales support and technical support which can be used in helping the company to identify and implement improvements to systems and procedures.
Administration – Provide effective and efficient administration of Group Pension business including implementation of new group schemes, scheme renewals, correspondence with Companies, scheme members and advisers, and dealing with enquiries.
Quality Control – Monitor quality of work produced by each team member against standards of service to ensure skill levels are achieved and maintained. Ensure client files are maintained in a compliant and professional manner in line with Company procedures.
Workflow – Actively manage team workloads and diary management to ensure a consistent level of service is delivered.
IT/ Systems Support – Management and training on appropriate IT and Business Processing systems.
1st Software – Assist Operations Manager with the development and use of 1st. Ensure 1st records are created and maintained to a high standard, in line with JCC procedures.
Processes & Procedures – Assist Operations Manager to review, develop and improve existing processes and procedures in line with delivering JCC’s strategy. Ensure that these are being adhered to and updated on a regular basis as necessary.
Reporting – Provide regular feedback to JCC Operations Manager on the team’s development and issues.
Operating Plan – Assist with implementation and support JCC initiatives in line with Operating Plan and Divisional objectives
Communication - Own and manage the pension documentation on the JCC section of the intranet to ensure they are accurate and up to date. Maintain and provide regular updates on status of cases in pipeline, and provide management information in line with agreed format.
Key Technical Skills & Experience:
Excellent PC skills. Experience of Adviser Office desirable
Knowledge of the group pensions market
Good administration, organisational and people management skills
Knowledge of regulatory requirements for pensions desirable
Essential Professional Qualifications:
FPC preferred
