One of the leading names in Insurance in the UK are looking for an experienced commercial underwriter with at least 2 years underwriting experience to work onsite at one of their regional broker partners.
This is a challenging and rewarding position where your excellent communication and negotiation skills will be put to good use.
Working in a fast paced environment, you'll develop and take responsibility for a portfolio of small/medium sized business accounts.
You will deliver business development strategies by effectively managing relationships with customers and brokers alike.
The successful candidate will have a good knowledge of the local marketplace, understand technical underwriting philosophy and strategy and be able to interpret and use MI. Knowledge of the on-site facility concept and supporting technology would be preferred.
The key responsibilities of the role holder are:
To work with the intermediary, undertake medium complexity end to end handling for the allocated cases.
Make effective on site decisions, optimising and working within agreed levels of authority ensuring that work is completed efficiently.
Working with others, develop strong relationships with the intermediary, balancing intermediary needs with organisational objectives in a way that will deliver business success and profitable growth.
Take shared responsibility for the profit, revenue and credit control
Deal with queries raised by the allocated intermediary, ensuring that a high level of customer service is provided and assisting in maintaining a high quality portfolio, optimising use of information gathered.
Skills and Experience:
CII certificate or working towards would be desirable
Understanding of the broker market
Working in a results orientated environment
