Job Purpose
The purpose of a Financial Planning Manager (FPM) is to work in conjunction with designated segment introducers to provide comprehensive financial planning to customers, fulfilling the complex needs of customers from a range of the company's approved providers by analysing their financial position, understanding their financial goals and attitude to risk and recommending the most suitable products to meet their financial needs.
The FPM needs to work closely and build relationships with their nominated introducers at to provide support, guidance and coaching to achieve sales activity targets
Technical Skills/Competencies
Demonstrate Fact Finding Skills by using a range of questioning and listening techniques appropriate to the customers they meet
Report writing and ability to articulate complex solutions both verbally and in written format
Competently use standard IT applications - MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Internet along with internal sales management programs.
Ability to demonstrate strong communication skills in a confident and highly professional manner.
Ability to influence & build relationships at different levels, including customers and corporates at senior levels.
Ability to make formal presentations to a range of audiences on complex subject matters.
Attention to detail and ability to organisation work to meet deadlines

Ability to adapt style and approach appropriate to the target audience
Create and deliver exceptional presentations on complex subjects to ensure that they build their influence with the audience.

In depth understanding of investments and tax planning for corporate clients.
Knowledge & Expertise Essential
Detailed knowledge of the financial products approved by our Clients Financial Planning
Detailed knowledge of the our Clients end-to-end Sales Process and the requisite regulatory obligations associated with this
Knowledge and understanding of the responsibilities to comply with the relevant FSA regulations
A proven track record within regulated financial services is a pre-requisite.
Knowledge of the Life Assurance, Pensions and Investments industry in the UK and a basic to good understanding of current UK taxation system
Ability to understand, analyse and communicate the risks associated with investment products, in particular, the relationship between customer attitudes to risk and the suitability of financial products recommended
Understand the culture and strategy of our Companies Financial Planning and its fit with the strategy of the company as a whole
Minimum 3 years industry experience
Ability to make an impressive impact with customers
Able to make an immediate presence with segment customers to build credibility
Desirable
Willingness to study towards AFPC
Willingness to study for G10, G30, G60 if required
Experience & Qualifications
Qualifications in Financial Planning by achieving full CEFA, FPC or a recognised industry equivalent qualification
Satisfy the FSA criteria for an approved person both initially and ongoing
Demonstrating and maintaining own Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in line with the standards detailed in the company Training & Competence scheme and keeping knowledge of Sales standards, legislation and products up to date
Achieve and retain Competent Adviser status Knowledge of corporate pensions
