Bodily Injury Consultant

Our client have a large presence in the motor insurance market in South wales and are now looking to expand their claims function within the Newport area.

 
With large growth plans over the next two years our client are currently looking to provide a fantastic opportunity for an experienced personal Injury handler to join their Bodily Injury department.

·Determine the reserve to be placed against each new claim allocated and review those reserves regularly so that accurate levels are maintained
·Refer to Senior Negotiator/ Controller on all claims which exceed decision making authority and implement the instructions given
·Ensure that claims are handled so as to fall within the Department's Quality Measures
Attend outside investigations into liability/ indemnity, trials or case conferences etc, when required
·Ensure familiarity with legal updates & changes which affect the claims handling practice of the Company
·Keep diaries which appear on the Urgent Diary Report up to date
·Manage own caseload to keep post up to date
·Input all relevant information onto the computer system in a clear and concise manner
·Keep our Insured informed of relevant action taken
·Pursue recoveries where appropriate (including from Reinsurers) and reserve accordingly
·Carry out any other duties required for the smooth running of the section
