Prophet Environment Manager Life & Health South East

This job is a new role which is being introduced to initially help with the testing and implementation of Prophet Enterprise into the Actuarial Department. This job deals with the support of the Prophet Enterprise environment used for the production of financial reporting results.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Management and maintenance of controlled pre-production and production environments for Prophet Enterprise, to ensure that the environment is available for use when required. This includes the defragmentation and clearing down of the environment.
2. Management (forward planning and testing) of all changes to the production and pre-production environments (hardware, operating software and Prophet Enterprise upgrades) to ensure that the environments remain fit-for-purpose and are upgrades in a controlled manner.
3. Liaison with the Systems & Support Team and the new Production Team on the size and structure of environments to help ensure that they are always fit for purpose.
4. First line technical support for Prophet Enterprise to Actuarial staff (particularly the new Production Team), including liaison with the rest of Actuarial Systems & Support and BIS on larger problems. This will ensure that the system is kept available for production purposes as much as possible. The role holder should ensure that issues are taken forward and resolved.
5. Management of user access for the Prophet Enterprise environments to ensure proper control over their use. In particular the Production Team must be able to carry out their duties using the production environment and end users must be able to access to the output results from production runs.
6. Resolution of issues in the technical test and development environments, to ensure that changes made there can be brought through successfully into the pre-production and then production environments.
