A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Casualty Underwriter to join one of the UK’s largest insurers located in the heart of Bristol. You will be responsible for providing superior underwriting expertise and services levels to ensure a first class service, and ensuring business objectives and company standards are adhered to.
Responsibilities
Underwrite and negotiate business within authority limits, ensuring first class customer service
Implement agreed technical standards, controls, practices, procedures
Implement underwriting policy within area of specialism
Handle a range of queries within agreed authority limits, providing information and advice to assist in the development of the account and maintain underwriting standards
Effectively manage and train junior underwriters, and act as a technical point of referral for all complex queries
Skills
Strong degree of technical knowledge within an underwriting capacity, and specialist understanding of casualty risks
Comprehensive understanding in the Principals of Insurance
ACII qualified would be beneficial
Proactive and able to manage a varied workload
Strong verbal and written communication skills
