Commercial Technical Underwriter
Location: Gloucestershire
Salary: £28,000 - £35,000
This is a Fantastic opportunity to join one of the top National Insurance Companies,
to provide technical account management support to enable underwriting of profitable commercial insurance business to meet the Commercial strategy and business objectives.
Responsibilities:
Support the profitable growth of the commercial classes of business
Assist in the development, drafting and maintenance of all existing and new policy wordings used for all classes of business
Participate in account, portfolio and proposition price reviews and assessments with the Commercial Pricing and Management teams
Work with the Senior Underwriters and Systems team in developing underwriting question sets and rule sets
Provide technical input to existing and new product documentation production and sign off
Assist with research and impact analysis of relevant UK and EU legislation on the current and future Fortis Commercial classes of insurance
Skills:
Excellent organisational, interpersonal and relationship buildings skills in order to interact with internal and external people at all levels
Ability to be adaptable and flexible in their accountability and liaison with senior and management team members in Commercial and in other areas of the business
In depth underwriting experience in a wide variety of commercial classes of insurance
Ability to assess technical risk and make decisions at a high level
Good understanding of the regulatory and principled environment for the industry and the Commercial insurance environment
ACII / Diploma or equivalent technical insurance qualification
