A very well known and highly regarded Insurance Group (Standard & Poor's AA rated) is recruiting for an experienced, qualified accountant to fill the position of Assistant Financial Controller.
Reporting to the Group Financial Controller and supervising two members of staff you will be responsible for managing the planning process, cost centre reporting, budgeting, management accounts commentaries, the monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and annual reporting, group statutory accounts, regulatory and accounting policy framework relating to regulatory updates and the impact the changes have on the business, Corporation and VAT tax returns, IPT issues and ensuring that Sarbanes Oxley controls are in place and working effectively.
Applicants must be qualified accountants with a strong insurance industry background, knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS and have had some exposure to Taxation issues (Corporation Tax, VAT, and IPT). Experience of implementing change and process improvements would be very advantageous.
