We currently have an opportunity for a Trading Underwriter to join an established trading team in Cheltenham
The Trading Underwriter will be aligned to a panel of brokers to trade commercial business within agreed class, segments and size parameters up to and beyond underwriting authority level (with referral where necessary).
They will negotiate with aligned brokers on allocated renewals, quotations and handle ad hoc enquiries.
Traders in this role will successfully negotiate face to face with brokers and by telephone, providing tailored solutions to broker and customer needs.
They will play a proactive role in developing of aligned broker accounts including prospecting with the support of the wider trading team
Salary Range £14,180 - £24,000
The role will be performance driven, judged on business results. The individual will spend a proportion of time face to face with brokers developing business opportunities at the appropriate level and where necessary accompanied by members of the wider trading team.
The key responsibilities of the role holder are:
Achieve gross written premium target for the panel together with profit
Individual broker feedback target achieved
Individual objective achieved
Achieves benchmark in internal QA (audit etc)

Other trading staff at the location

Account Management team
Experience required:
Commercial Underwriting experience
CII certification or working towards would be desirable.
