Job Role
The main objective of the role is to research, write and deliver various communications through the established vehicles for Alternative Channels. In addition, to proactively challenge content and quality of comms where necessary and influence change in accordance with business objectives and Communication Strategy.
Responsibilities
Research and write content for Communication channels, ensuring fit with Communication strategy and key business objectives.
Play a key role in enforcing the Communication Strategy, by influencing senior management and key stakeholders to adhere to current policy and procedure.
Ownership, management and the ongoing development of some Communication tools, to keep up-to-date with audience requirements and technologies.
Support and promote the Communication guidelines to the business by proactively providing advice on message delivery.
Responsibility for the daily upkeep of the Intranet Home Page and other key areas. Key objective; to attract daily visits by colleagues with eye-catching, innovative content, whilst ensuring relevance to audience and fit to strategy.
Provide support to the Internal Communications Manager on various communication projects as required.
Management of global mailing lists, ensuring they are consistently updated and used within the Communication guidelines.
Assist with planning, organisation and delivery of Communication events (eg: group meetings, conferences etc)
Skills, Experience & Knowledge
Proven knowledge and experience of delivering communications to an identified audience.
Excellent written communication skills – posses the ability to adapt writing style to audience.
Demonstrable creative skills and idea creation.
Ability to influence senior management in the writing and delivery of communications.
Good knowledge and usage of Microsoft packages and web publishing tools.
Good knowledge and understanding of the business.
Ability to communicate effectively with peers and superiors, building strong relationships and
internal and external networks.
Ability to deliver under pressure within tight timescales.
Flexible, able to adapt to changing business need.
Ability to introduce innovate ideas and constantly review current methods.
Ability to be trusted to work on sensitive and confidential projects with discretion.
A team player with ability to work on own initiative, with minimal supervision.
